Health Update

I’m kind of surprised it’s taken me so long to share an update on my health.  I think it’s because I feel like there is lots more to share than just an update especially considering I haven’t shared a whole lot about my diagnosis (of MS).  I think perhaps tomorrow I may post  my ‘diagnosis day’ post from the past just to give some back ground. For today though I will start with now and work back. Continue reading

Huxtable – 3 Weeks Later

I know, I know, I’ve missed two days and to be honest it almost turned into three but I decided that I don’t give up and it’s ultimately about progress not perfection. Here I am.

Yesterday we celebrated (ok we didn’t actually celebrate but rather noted) Huxtable being with us for three weeks!  In some ways I can’t believe it’s already been three weeks and in others it feels like forever.  He’s really found his place in our family, or in my and Lil’ Lady’s hearts, and is such a welcome addition (hmmm mostly 😉 ). Frustrations

I want to premise this post with the assurance to you that I am blessed, I know that, I have more than I deserve, life ultimately is good (though challenging) and I am thankful for the gifts I have.

However that doesn’t take away from the fact that I’m human and sometimes life this process of adoption also holds frustrations. Continue reading

Another 21?

So yeah I said I’d get another post in and here I am!

If you know anything about my past blogging experience you know that I love trying things, tracking things, writing about trying and tracking things.  You’d know that I like giving myself limits, and that I’m often very good about breaking those limits.

So far I’m a third of the way through my 21 days of writing and though I didn’t get to it yesterday I am still determined to get through 21 posts in 21 days at least.  I do try not to lose the principal (ie ‘OMG I didn’t blog yesterday so I’ve ruined it and I may as well quit!’ I generally only do that when it comes to following my ideal food plan for my MS) if things don’t go exactly as planned but rather learn something from it. I’m not perfect though (I know, total gasp!). Continue reading

Simply Put

Yes, I know I missed a post yesterday but life took over a bit as we were at a wedding most of the day and had a ‘situation’ to deal with before going to the wedding (more on that later).  You can expect my owed post within the next day or two 🙂

For this one however I’m keeping it simple (who knows the next one might be too) and focusing on a few things I’m super grateful for while Gent and I have been trying to wrap our hearts around another wait and our patience around a beautifully intelligent toddler who is using up every spare ounce of energy we have and then some.

Simply put I am grateful for … Continue reading

21 Days

I’ve been away for a while as we’ve been pretty busy with some exciting things.

Last week we hosted a small surprise BBQ celebrating my parents 40th wedding anniversary. We have several close family as well as my mom’s maid of honour and her husband (whom we didn’t even know were coming for sure until they arrived!).   A good time was had by all, don’t ever underestimate the power of a simple get together. We had hoped to have it outside but it down poured all afternoon (enough that we had water in our finished basement for the first time ever – still haven’t figured out how it got in as it came up from the floor and the walls were bone dry). So 17 of us (including 2 toddlers) crammed into our small not-so-entertaining-friendly home and had a very good time.

Our other exciting news I will share with you tomorrow maybe with some pics (am I building some suspense?). Fun times! Continue reading
